Nestled in the mighty Himalayas a tiny tea estate Jungpana has been enchanting tea lovers for over a century. Planted by the British it was owned initially by the Scotland based Duncan Brothers, later by the Ranas of Nepal and thereafter has been with the Kejriwal family for over five decades. This South facing tea estate is near the famous town of Darjeeling and lies at an altitude of approx 3000 ft with some tea ares as high a 4500 ft. Jungpana is known for its muscatel flavour which is famous throughout the world. The exceptional quality of tea produced at this estate is derived mainly due to the fact that the bulk of the tea bushes are of the China variety and also to the excellence of its location and altitude. Jungpana teas have been sought after over the years by most of the discerning importers in the UK, the Continent and Japan. The exceptional quality of its teas has lead to record breaking prices each year. To consistently produce the finest Darjeeling in the world for over a century, the Management at Jungpana has plucked the most delicate of leaves, mastered the intricacies of manufacture, and made quality a fetish. Darjeeling teas matured in the mists of the mighty Himalayas, are truly renowned for its richness of flavour and bouquet and Jungpana, situated in those magnificent slopes is the finest example. |
